A bootstrapped neighbour-joining tree obtained using MEGA version X, illustrating relationships between the deduced amino acid sequence of Odonus niger β-defensin (On-Def) with other β-defensins. Values at the node indicate the percentage of times that the particular node occurred in 1000 trees generated by bootstrapping the original deduced amino acid sequences. Mammalian and bird β-defensins are separated as a branch from the fish β-defensin branch. Within the fish β-defensin branch, sub-branching of group 1 and group 2 are visible.
